my blog is rather boring, is it not
:looksaround:

i don’t know what to say
all the interesting details of my life are just way too private to let a bunch of web-philes with too much coffee on their hands to know

i mean, really, who even bothers visiting this site other than yaser and chris?

:looksaround:

makes sense…

someone said that my flimsy attempt at a poem:

love of God is everything,
the destination;
love of humans
is only the journey

is trite

trite
adj. trit·er, trit·est
1. Lacking power to evoke interest through overuse or repetition; hackneyed.
2. Archaic. Frayed or worn out by use.

quite frankly, i agree

it sounds like rehashed rumi, anyway

re·hash
tr.v. re·hashed, re·hash·ing, re·hash·es
1. To bring forth again in another form without significant alteration: rehashing old ideas.
2. To discuss again.

i’m going to go listen to bob dylan now…

i have exams next week
eight exams
most people don’t
i have a big courseload
most people don’t
i’m barely studying
most people are
i don’t know how i ever end up passing these things
with the marks i do get

i don’t think i deserve them
i know people who DO deserve them
but don’t get them…

there’s this thing in our school, “principal’s scholars” — the top 15 or so students in each grade
since i got into highschool
i ended up on the list every term
and i always “joke” that they “put me on by mistake, again”
but i’m serious

i think there’s people out there who deserve it much more than i do
for goodness sake, i ask THEM for help when i’m stuck
they DO deserve it
but they don’t get it

life is suck, in that way
people who deserve stuff don’t get it
people who don’t end up getting it

then there’s people who try to reassure me that i do deserve it
but i disagree, quite frankly, for reasons already expressed

life is suck

more stanzas from hindi songs:

“oh when i saw this girl she seemed like,
when i saw this girl she seemed like
like a flowering rose
like a poet’s dream
like the light of day
like colours in colours
like the moonlit night
like the talk of softness
like an everburning fire in the temple…”

this is my new temporarily favourite song (another cat stevens) — one of his earlier works … very catchy and dancy:

i take you out all over town
but you always start sittin’ down
you never move, baby whats wrong with me?
when we go dancin’ , you’re just there like a tree

baby come on and dance, you’re holding me back
i gotta get out this feeling, before i go mad
you gotta let me in, the music’s getting me now
you gotta come on and dance, stop hangin around

i don’t care if you twist or jive,
just as long as you’re lookin’ alive
you’ll make me glad, baby you’ll make me rise,
i wanna see that twinkle in your eyes

baby come on and dance, you’re holding me back
i gotta get out this feeling, before i go mad
you gotta let me in, the music’s getting me now
you gotta come on and dance, stop hangin around

i don’t care if you twist or jive,
just as long as you’re lookin’ alive
you’ll make me glad, baby you’ll make me rise,
i wanna see that twinkle in your eyes

baby come on and dance, you’re holding me back
i gotta get out this feeling, before i go mad
you gotta let me in, the music’s getting me now
you gotta come on and dance, stop hangin around
alright, come on and dance
oh baby now, come on and dance

i’m going to rant now
what’s up with all this pressure on grade elevens in ontario?
i mean, we’re the guinea pigs
“let’s try out all this new crap on these kids”
and that makes life miserable
then at our school the exam schedules are all messed up, so we have exams smack dab in the middle of nowhere, and so we have no time to study for them properly
(they’re supposed not to give us tests and quizzes in the week before the exams — but hell they never care)
our exams are the first week of march
and everything is tougher for us, because we’re the guinea pigs
and this is suck
then when we graduate with the double-cohort crap (because the government cut out one grade, so we’re graduating at the same times as those presently in grade twelve)
who’s the uni going to accept?
really, students with more experience who’re already prepared?
or half-baked students with their appendages waving out in the air?
yeesh
life is suck
this is really suck
