recently, more people have been linking to this site using text
may i remind everyone that proper english etiquette compels you to spell nomes as “nomes” … not “Nomes” … no, never is it spelled “Nomes” … this is a heinous crime
moreover, this site is still called “nomes” … not “Sherlock nomes” or “SHERLOCK nomes” or “Sherlock Nomes” … nay, it’s still “nomes”
i thank you

one more anti-glob sticker to add to the movement:

it has recently come to my attention that a recent and subversive movement has arisen, aiming to remove the reign of blogs and bloggers
this movement addresses itself as the “golBultion,” the followers are “golBers” and they partake in “golBing”
bloggers are decent, tolerant and forbearing people … however, when such movements rear their ugly heads to stir unrest in blogtopia, it is time for us to take action
the globbers have underestimated the reaction of the anti-glob movement
so those who want to persist in this subversive action thinking that no repurcussions will come their way … i say to you, get ready to be anti-globbed
let the games begin

the idea (i.e., “meccanomics”) is my mate, rojin islam’s (he’s mancunian — from manchester)
i just came up with the graphic/logo
the idea and art is by ibrahim (a.k.a. khaleel of ‘men in wack‘ fame)
i just changed the font of the text and added the meccanomics logo at the bottom

i continued my exploits at the chinese embassy today
including mopping the floors (both dry mop, and wet mop) and polishing the floors (with this machine that took me ages to master)
there’s barely anyone there
just this one guy
the ambassador’s gone on vacation (with a lot of his staff)
and they’re still having parties at the embassy… :S
anyway, if you thought english w/a chinese accent is funny, wait till you hear arabic w/a chinese accent (no offense to any of my chinese friends … as i think english w/a hindi accent is damned hilarious, too, see ….)
well the pickup i was being driven around in (to and fro the embassy) had a damaged AC
and it was damn hot, well over 40 d. celsius … i was sweating like crazy and felt dizzy at a point
but i got to see a lot of riyadh, it’s got a lot of shizzat here and there

thanks to saira
for indirectly giving me the incredible idea of typing this song out on the blog
as if i wasn’t going to get to it some day
considering my unending obsession with this song
and my repeated declarations that switchfoot is the best alternative christian rock band out there…
there’s a song that’s inside of my soul
it’s the one that i’ve tried to write over and over again
i’m awake in the infinite cold
won’t you sing to me over and over and over again
so i lay my head back down
and i lift my hands and pray to be only yours
i pray to be only yours
i know now you’re my only hope
sing to me of the song of the stars
of your galaxy dancing and laughing and laughing again
when it feels like my dreams are so far
sing to me of the plans that you have for me over again
and i lay my head back down
and i lift my hands and pray to be only yours
i pray to be only yours
i know now you’re my only hope
i give you my apathy
i’m giving you all of me
i want your symphony singing in all that i am
at the top of my life i’m giving back
and i lay my head back down
and i lift my hands and pray to be only yours
i pray to be only yours
i pray to be only yours
i know now you’re my only hope
– switchfoot
also, thanks to saira for making it clear to me that i’m a nut
or i wouldn’t have had the slightest of idea…

i got three books, very recently:
animal farm
angela’s ashes
the entire sherlock holmes compilation (facsimiles from the strand magazine) w/the original sketches from the strand magazine
animal farm (by george orwell) is an amazing book about communism/socialism, it’s great
it describes how even though all systems start out with noble and lofty ideals, whoever’s in power will start getting corrupt, and the entire population will suffer… it’s a great read… about time i read 1984 as well…
i was thinking it would make for a great disney movie … lol
angela’s ashes (by frank mccourt) is a wonderful read, incredible autobiography of frank mccourt, about his (miserable) irish (catholic) childhood … i can’t wait to get my paws on the sequel (’tis) .. the biography is given through the eyes of the child, as he grows up you grow up with him … it’s amazing, go get it now — i also want to watch the movie…
what am i supposed to say about sherlock holmes (by sir arthur conan doyle)? yes, i’ve read all the stories already, but this time round it came with the original sketches from the original strand magazine, how could i resist?
the publication has a lot of spelling errors
damn shame, but great book nonetheless
(wordsworth edition)
great reads
