i got three books, very recently:
animal farm
angela’s ashes
the entire sherlock holmes compilation (facsimiles from the strand magazine) w/the original sketches from the strand magazine
animal farm (by george orwell) is an amazing book about communism/socialism, it’s great
it describes how even though all systems start out with noble and lofty ideals, whoever’s in power will start getting corrupt, and the entire population will suffer… it’s a great read… about time i read 1984 as well…
i was thinking it would make for a great disney movie … lol
angela’s ashes (by frank mccourt) is a wonderful read, incredible autobiography of frank mccourt, about his (miserable) irish (catholic) childhood … i can’t wait to get my paws on the sequel (’tis) .. the biography is given through the eyes of the child, as he grows up you grow up with him … it’s amazing, go get it now — i also want to watch the movie…
what am i supposed to say about sherlock holmes (by sir arthur conan doyle)? yes, i’ve read all the stories already, but this time round it came with the original sketches from the original strand magazine, how could i resist?
the publication has a lot of spelling errors
damn shame, but great book nonetheless
(wordsworth edition)
great reads
