i rediscovered jurassic 5
i found myself getting their entire album last night
it’s amazing, incredible
i particularly love jurass finish first and contribution
there’s some leadership conference thing tomorrow that i’m going to (so i’ll be missing school’s late start and shortened classes, whoopee)
will see how it is
for some reason it takes forever for pages and msn messenger to load
incredibly annoying
markfiore.com, hilarious cartoons

trying to further my policy of trying to post at least once a day
so today was the first day back to school
felt good to settle into the old routine
my shoulder muscles are killing me for whatever the reason
math teacher dumps a ton of work on us back on the first day
reminds me of the first math class, no introduction, no hello’s or hi’s — just a straight dive into the lesson
and i still don’t know how to pronounce her name correctly, ms. kaschuk … i’ve settled with a “kaash-chuk” but sometimes it comes out “ka-shuck”
she’s ukrainian … apparently, and ukrainian chrismas is tomorrow (so she’s not coming to school)
so a merry ukrainian christmas to all ukrainian christians
maybe i should make up a pakistani christmas and take a day off school as well
(credit to omid for that joke)
for some reason i’m having a hard time articulating when speaking in person
i feel like taking pauses and breaks — no it’s not stuttering, because i can flow without stuttering when i concentrate
i just can’t speak properly without thinking about it
maybe i need more sleep
swollen members ft. moka only – bring it home
relatively old song but nice, just popped on my winamp
the giant english project is on friday
we’re having a nineteen-twenties party (in school) based on fitzgerald’s the great gatsby (nice book)
so we’re supposed to take responsibilites
not surprisingly, or maybe surprisingly, i was chosen for entertainment
i’ve basically arranged for five hours of music though we only need around three
i’m going as bing crosby, and a.mac is going as al jolson
we’ll sing (lip-sync) to “alexander’s ragtime band”
that should be fun
exams are coming up
that should suck

i just returned from new jersey today
i really appreciate having my feet solidly on canadian ground
going to the states only made me realize how great canada is
okay, i may be exaggerating a little
but this is something i noticed:
canadian sears sales representative: “how may i help you today, sir?”
american sears sales representative: “what the f*** do you want me to do for you, a**hole?”
(once again, i may be exaggerating)
but attitudes are so much warmer up here (kind of ironic considering jersey city has had almost all its snow from the christmas “storm” melted, whereas i was greeted in toronto with an all-white welcome — the snow)
i know i haven’t blogged a lot
a good reason is because my servers were pulled out
fortunately i had a backup of this site (or as much as i had completed) on my computer
(granted i have to put in my template for the commenting… as it looks really turdy right now)
i cannot say the same about the malcolm x web site
which i now have to peel together from scratch
fortunately i have all the documents and stuff (and it’s not like enough newspapers and other buttheads haven’t copied right off my site without bothering to credit me)
and this is an inopportune time
because my exams are coming up and several assignments are due in the next few weeks
unfortunately, it didn’t occur to me that i should’ve taken my laptop to the states, where i could’ve worked on the site during my extended periods of free time
concerning my trip to jersey:
– downtown jersey city is terrible, t-dot rocks, all you hear at night there are sirens
– i went to times square (that’s in manhattan, new york city, new york) at least three times
they have the world’s largest toys ‘r’ us — and they didn’t bother restocking after christmas
the only marvel action figure (from the second wave of marvel classics action figures) that they had was of that sea god superhero dude, i forget his pathetic name
and stuff from x-men evolution, which isn’t worth buying unless you’re thirteen years old and love off the series
(the series was not too shabby, actually)
the songs i’ve posted down there were to remind myself to get upon my return to toronto
they’re nice songs, actually
especially the sister hazel song
