She hates Shias and wants them to be ethnically cleansed by the peaceloving Israelis — they grow up terrorist, apparently (the Shias). Someone, please, get her to shut up. She’s worse than most Israeli ambassadors I’ve seen on TV so far.

She does, however, provide a new pronunciation for Hizbullah: “huz-bullah.” Seriously someone needs to be documenting all of these.

(This is all Fahad’s fault.) this!

    She came to Queen’s once.
It was the usual spiel, but the organisations that hosted her, Hillel and Queen’s Israeli Peace Initative, refused to apologise for her hate-filled rant, though they *did* admit to not having expected her to say what she did.
Interestingly enough, Queen’s MSA did not join the public in insisting on an apology. It remained characteristically silent.

Which is precisely what the MSA at UofT did during the Radical Islam Week hosted by Betar Tagar.

Yeah, the MSAs tend to ignore and not give them the attention they crave.

I understood the MSA’s stance on not trying to give the Radical Islam Week folks the attention they seriously did not deserve. At the same time, the insularity of the MSA kind of put many Muslim students down. A lot of Muslim students engaged the Betar Tagar folks (but did not attend their events). I don’t know how useful it would be to attend those events anyway, or even to engage the BT people.

What would we have the MSAs do in these cases?

Hillel, for instance, during Israeli Apartheid Week, takes out an ad in the school paper that says this stuff is racist (which it isn’t) and hurtful (which it might be because the truth hurts). The MSA could do that, or maybe there isn’t enough money to do that.
