i just returned from new jersey today
i really appreciate having my feet solidly on canadian ground
going to the states only made me realize how great canada is
okay, i may be exaggerating a little

but this is something i noticed:
canadian sears sales representative: “how may i help you today, sir?”
american sears sales representative: “what the f*** do you want me to do for you, a**hole?”
(once again, i may be exaggerating)

but attitudes are so much warmer up here (kind of ironic considering jersey city has had almost all its snow from the christmas “storm” melted, whereas i was greeted in toronto with an all-white welcome — the snow)

i know i haven’t blogged a lot
a good reason is because my servers were pulled out
fortunately i had a backup of this site (or as much as i had completed) on my computer
(granted i have to put in my template for the commenting… as it looks really turdy right now)
i cannot say the same about the malcolm x web site
which i now have to peel together from scratch
fortunately i have all the documents and stuff (and it’s not like enough newspapers and other buttheads haven’t copied right off my site without bothering to credit me)
and this is an inopportune time
because my exams are coming up and several assignments are due in the next few weeks
unfortunately, it didn’t occur to me that i should’ve taken my laptop to the states, where i could’ve worked on the site during my extended periods of free time

concerning my trip to jersey:
– downtown jersey city is terrible, t-dot rocks, all you hear at night there are sirens
– i went to times square (that’s in manhattan, new york city, new york) at least three times
they have the world’s largest toys ‘r’ us — and they didn’t bother restocking after christmas
the only marvel action figure (from the second wave of marvel classics action figures) that they had was of that sea god superhero dude, i forget his pathetic name
and stuff from x-men evolution, which isn’t worth buying unless you’re thirteen years old and love off the series
(the series was not too shabby, actually)

the songs i’ve posted down there were to remind myself to get upon my return to toronto
they’re nice songs, actually
especially the sister hazel song

  del.icio.us this!
