man

i’ve been watching some of these videos and i’m disappointed
mos def, talib, and them shouldn’t have booty shakin scantily clad women in their videos unless they’re making an expressed point
that’s what i’ve come to expect from them but that’s not what i see

common ft. mary blige – come close
the video is very touching

i got the second album of jurassic 5 last night
but i wasn’t too impressed
the first is much better, in my opinion
hard to best your first try, i guess

thanks to dragon for re-introducing me to bone thugs n harmony, it’s not entirely my style (i’m more of the mos def, talib kweli, dilated peoples type)
but i’m impressed, the rapping is fast and in harmony
that’s incredible
good stuff

the english party went well, the gatsby party
we had to clean room 124 last night and all but it was worth it
then this morning we went in and arranged it
caterers did a bang up job what with the food and all
i liked the dresses, really fine looking dresses
(some of the ladies looked mighty smashing there – as did many of the guys)
tim lee, with his magic tricks, lighted up the place
and then the gangsters with their little disturbance
and the dance people, teaching the crazy dances
the singing and piano during lunch were great
of course the highlight (for me and a.mac anyway) came when a.mac and i sang the song, even though we messed up a few of the lines and neither of us can sing for beans
and great job to the rest
once again, the caterers all did an impressive job

i must report that i’ve switched to netscape
internet explorer has been really troublesome lately
so hell

in the school library, i set the background on a whole row of computers to be the title pic of this blog
that is, me in cartoon form
it’s pretty impressive a sight to see a whole row of it
hilarious

during spare i’m going to go and try to turn all the computers that way
the librarians will get to know me well then
ha ha ha
(watch me get suspended for shameless self advertising)

this happened on wednesday that i didn’t mention, it was much more important than anything else that happened that day:

sanjeyan and i were waiting for bio to start, shawn and omid were there because they had lunch and were hanging with us
bio is right in front of a door that leads out
teacher not there yet
so sanjeyan opens the door, and the other two go outside, and start throwing snow balls in each other’s general directions
i go outside and tell them to stop because omid was only in a t-shirt and they’d get frostbite and bum off
so he throws his snowball at the wall
then we’re like … hmm … wonder if we can get the snowballs over the roof
and we start throwing snowballs at the side of the building trying to get it up and over
and soon the whole wall is covered with snowballs and we see if we can hit certain things and spots on the wall
that was fun
we continued throwing even though the teacher came
a few minutes later i go back to class
realize that my fingers are ready to fall off from being near frozen stiff
and seconds later sanjeyan and shawn waltz in and we’re all shaking our fingers, blowing on our hands like morons
it was fun
the most fun i’ve had in ages, actually
totally spontaneous
no coats, gloves or anything

shawn isn’t in our class but he tagged along

weeeee

twas fun

after school, i went to jeff (hainsworth)’s place to work on a physics project with ella (my partner)

in the meanwhile, i felt tired and decided to take a nap on his couch in his basement

then … this is what happened (avi video, 1.6 mb)

enjoy

so i went to timothy eaton business and technical institute (basically … school for those who can’t make it to collegiate level) for that leadership conference thing
it was a dud
turns out the real conference was yesterday (as there was a principal’s meeting at t.eaton today …) — they rescheduled at the last moment or something, AND no one showed up yesterday either (except the five leader ambassadors from t.eaton … duh)

so there we were sitting in that school … i know this sounds conceited and … mean (and it is), but you could actually feel the not-so-bright-ness radiating from the school
and we were talking to a healthcare teacher, she had a pipe-cleaner flower pinned to her jacket (the type kindergarten students make and feel proud about)
ella, from our group, says “oh, that’s a pretty flower!”
and the teacher said “yeah, one of my students made it for me just this morning”
i burst out laughing, tried to restrain myself but i couldn’t
and i started trying to pretend i was choking
but i was doing a crappy job
ella tried to cover up “are you okay?”
didn’t work, that teacher gave me dirty looks
i can often restrain my laughter but the past few days i feel … giddy
(monday in bio class, i couldn’t read a simple paragraph and had to turn it over to annie, my partner, because i just kept laughing throughout)

then we helped her out with … math … compound interest, mind you (grade eleven math)

as soon as we heard that our cab was there, we all stood up and were like “let’s get the heck out of here!”

what a great way to waste the really late start
i could’ve slept in or done homework instead of buggering around a b.t.i.

bah
