so brittany ballantine won the elections, as predicted
to quote henry: “there’s something seriously wrong with this country”
well, the school for sure
most grade twelves i’ve spoken to voted for brennan
conclusion: morons voted for brittany
i am so mean
+ correction on previous post about elections, cindy liu was running for vice president
she won, too — i think she’s fairly competent, though
oh well

23 dollars? so i can sit there like a two year old and have some perverted jackass put me in different poses and take pictures of me to “make me look good”?
and then on TOP of that spend more money to get some teeny sized pics?
wtf
that’s pure capitalism at its crappiest
they’re trying to squeeze bloody money from TEENAGERS
goddammit
high school students!
vicious pieces of crap
why not set up my own booth
bring my digicam
set it at high rez, take snapshots
get some backdrops from drama or steal them from the real photographers
take pics of peeps in different poses whatever
and then go home, “airbrush” them on photoshop
get em printed nice on nice paper at professional printers
or whoever develops digital pictures
and give em to the people for however much it costs to print the pics + a buck or two for the effort
and i’m sure that’ll be way under 23 dollars
gayness
ima just get my proofs for 23 dollars
apparently it’s eight proofs
now if anyone wants to trade they better do it fast (before the eight run out) and they better be satisfied with a proof
heh
capitalists

there were elections today
for the s.a.c.
the ONLY competent candidate out of all of ’em was brennan connolley or however you spell his name for president
his speech was a really good one
what i found shitty was that he got booed as he walked up to make the speech
incredibly, these same people cheered his rival, brittany
now that’s gayness
her speech sucked, too
she has nothing to offer
though cindy liu’s speech was okay, she didn’t present it well
(check off brennan)
all of the speeches were crap
almost all
just about everyone had a poem
how original when EVERYONE has a bloody poem
the one i liked out of em all was madiha’s (events) “i decided i’ll rap … :cheers from audience: … oh, i’m just kidding guys”
that was actually funny
then she went on to read a poem
:S
her rival, shurelle, had a crappy speech, didn’t even look up from her paper (maybe once …)
and
then she went on to do a “freestyle”
SHE WAS READING RIGHT OFF THE PAPER
that’s not a bloody freestyle you illiterate and uncultured … person
i will not trust you with my vote
(check off madiha)
for publicity, one of the posters in the halls said
“did ya hear? kathyrn c’s running for publicity! spread the word!”
under which i posted a sign saying “that’s your job, genius”
but eugene’s speech was nice, cute, and actually funny
(check off eugene)
i was making rude comments for almost all of them, actually vocally booed brittany
(not loud enough though)
but the girls sitting in front of me were giving me dirty looks
which i didn’t mind
my ulterior motive was to get kicked out by a teacher
but i wasn’t loud enough
maybe some other assembly
i’m still trying to tangibly get kicked out of the library
i should’ve run for publicity last year
oh well

today was a multicultural assembly
and i was an MC
the first assembly went routinely enough
it was cool
the second, though, had a glitch
apparently one of the wires had broken and this was a key wire for the stage lights
i was hanging with the stage crew, and everything was ready for the show to go, except for those lights
so they told me to go down and tell the audience what was going on, i joked maybe i should rap (the previous day at rehearsals at i had rapped “jump around”)
they said, good idea, and that i should do it
so i told them, fine, turn on the music when i give the cue
then i went down to the pit
grabbed a mic, and alerted the audience as to what was going on with the lights
then i said “how many of you remember the house of pain?”
some cheers
then the music started, and there was more cheering
then i sort of started dancing — just moving to the music
and then i started rapping
and everyone was taken by utter surprise
virtually everyone i talked to was simply expecting me to introduce the song and that was it, they were really surprised when i started rapping myself
(also, imagine a brown guy in shalwar khameez rapping)
but it was great, i’d definitely do it again
in fact, they cut me off (they’d decided to go ahead without the stage lights, made some improv)
and so i had one whole section to go when they cut me off
i feel like i have unfinished business (I WILL HAVE MY REVENGE, MU HA HA)
but it was pretty cool
the audience seemed to enjoy it a lot
and the rest of the show was cool, too
so that was that

this is what my arrows look like:
i drew that in flash
the arrows i use have purple aluminum shafts
with plastic flèches (“feathers”) — two are blue, one is white
and a clear plastic yellow nock
maybe i get a bow up later
😛

we had an archery tournament today — ofsaa (entire ontario)
i didn’t do as well as i should’ve done
but i did fairly well, considering i switched archery strands (from standard to olympic) just three weeks ago
well enough, that is, to contribute to the agincourt collegiate institute boys’ archery team’s being ontario bronze medalists!
indeed, the four highest scorers from each school were added up
and agincourt made it to third place in all of ontario
the archery team (in order of scoring): jeff chou, omid tavakoli, sanjeyan kalatharan, and yours truly, noaman ali
shawn wang got bumped off, poor guy
(and i really didn’t so as well as i should have)
considering we were up against dozens of schools that have archers who compete in various tournaments on intensely competitive levels
and none of us do
we did very well
agincourt is — without a doubt — the best archery team in scarborough
(and the third best in ontario)
individually, none of us did as well as we should have, so we didn’t get any individual prizes
but i have a bronze medal here, which is very satisfying
so i feel great
sleepy, but great
🙂

archery damned well is a sport
i see the way some people scoff when it’s mentioned that i’m an archer
screw them, they have no idea what it is
they may have picked up a bow and shot a couple of arrows as part of a gym class or something, and it is possible they even hit the gold
but that’s not skill, that’s fluke
people who think it’s easy are morons
plain and simple
archery is one hell of a sport
read about it on the official olympics site
marvel superhero, hawkeye, is an archer — he has no superpowers, just superior archery skills
he was a former olympic archer:
(from the ultimates comic)
and so all who think it is not a sport can go shoot themselves

this song is amazing
seasons in the sun cover by terry jacks
it seems my life lately revolves around songs, what with the N10 and N140
but it doesn’t … really …
i really appreciate music, though, lol
anyway, i’ve got tons of homeworks to do
but i don’t feel motivated
sheesh
i hate the way they wait and then all release it at the same time
so everything’s assigned on the same day
and due on the same day
and you got the students stuck in the middle trying to stay alive
yeah, so that’s what i’m trying to do right now
and i’m sure nomespeak will progress to eventually have its own dictionary
lol
yeah, right

so we’re dissecting pigs in bio class
they’re fetal pigs, and have been soaking in putrid smelling formaldehyde for days
the smell sticks in your nose
doesn’t leave
putrid
if i were a jew, i would claim religious exemption
jews aren’t allowed to even approach pig
some muslims would argue the same
but i believe that the restriction is only on eating pig
it’s fun
but it’s unsettling
the pigs were all still-born, so it’s not like they were aborted or anything
yet imagine if a human was still-born, born dead, that is
and without the mother’s permission, the baby is “donated” to science
it’s “preserved” in formaldehyde and injected with red and blue latex
and then is hacked at, made fun of, played around with
by a bunch of high school students
quite unsettling
